Founded in 1946, Progress Theatre is Reading’s oldest producing theatre and a proudly volunteer-led, community-driven company producing bold, original work in one of the town’s most intimate venues. For nearly eight decades, we’ve championed creativity, accessibility, and opportunity-ensuring that theatre in Reading remains vibrant, inclusive, and open to all.
We deliver an ambitious programme of live theatre, supported by a thriving Youth Theatre, relaxed and accessible performances, and a commitment to removing barriers to participation both onstage and behind the scenes.
