Ivan Dimitrov

Ivan Dimitrov has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in different companies. Ivan started their career in 2003 as an Electronics Assembler at Paradox Security Systems. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Chemistry Teacher at the National School of Sciences.

In 2007, Ivan joined Pandela LLC as a PHP Developer and Software Developer. Ivan focused on PHP development and web hosting support, specifically working on the User Control Panel and backend administration system. Pandela was later acquired by UltraHosing in 2008.

From 2008 to 2011, Ivan worked as a Senior Technical Support Officer at Progress, providing code-level technical support and developing .NET/C#/HTML/JS applications. Ivan then transitioned into the role of a Software Developer at Progress, contributing to the development of core parts of the CMS and creating internal solutions/tools.

Ivan's career at Progress progressed rapidly, and they became a Team Lead, Senior Software Developer in 2013. In this role, they led a team of software engineers and worked on the design and development of tools, backend services, and APIs supporting the main CMS product. Ivan also played a key role in scaling the company's systems and tools.

In 2014, Ivan was promoted to Manager Software Engineering at Progress, leading a small team responsible for automation of the infrastructure in the Sitefinity product. Ivan provided thought leadership and technical expertise in system design and coding.

By 2016, Ivan took on the role of Senior Manager Software Engineering, overseeing multiple high-performing software engineering teams at Progress. Ivan was responsible for the overall direction, management, and operational excellence of these teams, as well as leading the ideation, technical development, and launch of internal products.

Ivan's most recent role at Progress is that of a Director of Engineering, a position they held from 2020 to the present. In this capacity, they provided technical and engineering organizational leadership, reorganized teams, and managed financial metrics. Ivan also led the development of the Sitefinity core product and various other teams, including Automation Infrastructure, Product Security, Tools, UX, Frontend, and Product Documentation.

Currently, Ivan Dimitrov serves as the Senior Director of Software Engineering at Progress, where they manage product objectives and leads the other stakeholders and managers. Ivan is responsible for the intellectual and emotional leadership of the company and works closely with key engineering talent to create great products.

Ivan Dimitrov earned a High School Diploma from the National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences "Academician Lyubomir Chakalov" in 2002. Ivan then attended Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry in 2006. In the same university, they pursued three Master's degrees consecutively, namely Business Administration MBA, Master of Science in Chemistry, and Master in Education, all completed between 2006 and 2008.
