Jake Whelan

Jake Whelan has a diverse work experience, starting from 2014. Jake began their career as a Stadium Steward at Thomond Park Stadium, where they assisted fans with ticket checks and seat directions. Then, in 2014 and 2015, they worked part-time at Showtime Cinemas Limerick as a Floor Staff member, serving customers, managing stock, and maintaining popcorn quality. In 2016, they became a Network Support Engineer at Kemp Technologies, responsible for problem-solving and training new hires. In 2021, they joined Adenza as a Cloud Operations Analyst, managing AWS cloud environments for clients. Currently, they work at Progress as a Senior Technical Support Engineer, handling escalated client cases related to cybersecurity and authentication. In their latest role as a Technical Team Lead, they are responsible for the growth and development of the LoadMaster EMEA Support Team.

Jake Whelan has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Software Design with Cybersecurity from the Technological University of the Shannon, which they obtained from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mobile Communications and Security from the University of Limerick from 2013 to 2017. Their secondary education was completed at Ardscoil Rís, where they achieved Leaving Certificate points totaling 485.
