Thomas Huang has a diverse work experience in various roles related to product management, animation, and digital arts. Thomas is currently the Director of Product Management at Project Archer since April 2023. Prior to this, Thomas worked at Target as a Senior Product Manager from November 2021 to April 2023, and as the Lead Tech Owner for XR from August 2017 to December 2021. From November 2020 to January 2023, they held the position of Vice Chair in the 3D Commerce Working Group at The Khronos Group, and from September 2019 to September 2022, they served as the Asset Creation TSG Co-Chair for 3D Commerce.
Thomas also has experience in mixed reality development, animation, and digital arts. From September 2015 to July 2017, they were an Animation Director and Mixed Reality Developer at 8ninths, where they worked on content creation, interactive and animation development using various technologies such as HoloLens, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Gear VR, and Google Cardboard. Thomas also worked on character animation, rigging, lighting, rendering, and asset optimization workflows.
Before that, Thomas worked as a Senior Animator at Straightface Studio from July 2015 to September 2015, and as a Lead Animator at Dynamoid Apps from March 2015 to August 2015. Thomas has also worked as a CG Animator on a freelance basis from August 2012 to February 2015. Prior to their freelance work, they served as an Assistant Professor of Digital Arts at Bowling Green State University from August 2012 to May 2014. Thomas also worked as a CG Animator at MAKE studio from September 2011 to August 2012 and as a Previsualization Artist at Halon Entertainment from June 2011 to November 2011.
Thomas Huang completed their Master of Fine Arts in Animation at the University of Southern California from 2007 to 2010. In addition, they have obtained several certifications from Coursera, including "Classification with Transfer Learning in Keras" in August 2020, "Capstone: Retrieving, Processing, and Visualizing Data with Python" in June 2020, "Using Databases with Python" in June 2020, "Convolutional Neural Networks in TensorFlow" in March 2020, and "Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning" in March 2020. It is not specified when they obtained the certification in "Natural Language Processing in TensorFlow."
