Eric Purdy

Eric Purdy is a highly experienced ophthalmologist currently serving as a Volunteer Ophthalmic Surgeon aboard the Global Mercy with Mercy Ships, providing free humanitarian care in Africa. In addition, Eric holds positions as an Oculoplastics Editor for EyeNet Journal, an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine, and an instructor with Volunteer Eye Surgeons International, conducting surgeries in countries such as Vietnam and Bangladesh. Eric's extensive experience includes serving as an ophthalmologist at Vision Care Associates, a consultant at Veterans Hospital in Fort Wayne, as well as the Director of Ophthalmology at both Mobile Medical Mission Hospital and Lions Clubs International, leading eye surgery missions in various locations. With a medical education that spans multiple respected institutions, including the Mayo Clinic and the University of Florida, Eric has contributed significantly to the field of ophthalmology through editorial roles and extensive volunteer work.
