Project Independence is a charity transforming the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing pathways to independent living and home ownership.  

Our unique model helps residents, while renting, to build equity in their property while fostering life skills and supported decision-making abilities.  

After starting in Canberra, PI is expanding nationally, offering secure, long-term accommodation and the opportunity of home ownership. We believe everyone deserves a place to call home and the opportunity to live independently with confidence and pride. 

Pathways:

Pathways to Independence is a 7-week course specifically designed for people with intellectual disabilities who want to develop the essential skills required to transition to independent living. 

Over the duration of the course, participants learn about these skills and then self-assess whether they need further specific training or practice or additional support.

• Living in Harmony with Others 
• Managing Change and Routines 
• Daily Living Skills 
• Safe Relationships 
• Managing Conflict
