Senior EHS Process Engineer at Prolacta Bioscience

John Macek has had a long and successful career in safety and environmental management. John began their career in 2003 as the Safety Manager for Pratt & Whitney, where they were responsible for the implementation and coordination of the EH&S Compliance System for 140 skilled laborers and 22 management personnel in the development and manufacture of Composite Engine Plenums and Cargo Bay Liners for Military Aircraft. John was also responsible for the overall implementation of the UTC Continuous Improvement and Lean Program (ACE) and the creation of a lean culture.

In 2006, John moved to Ducommon Aerostructures as a Safety Contractor, where they were responsible for the overall implementation and coordination of the EH&S compliance system and Workers Compensation Program for OEM and Aftermarket Manufacturing Operations and Composite Metal Bonding (Helicopter and Fixed Wing Aircraft Parts) in Monrovia, CA. John was also responsible for training 2 Safety Engineers in support of EH&S compliance programs for 620 skilled laborers.

John then worked as a Safety and Environmental Contractor for KIK International in 2008, followed by a role as Safety Director at JM Eagle. In 2011, they took on the role of Safety and Environmental Manager at Southern California Edison, where they were responsible for providing guidance on safety and environmental issues to the foremen and assistants of the facilities. John also assisted the 2013 Environmental Regulatory Review Team and was the point of contact for spill notifications and reports of those spills to the appropriate agency.

John's most recent position was as Senior EHS Process Engineer at Prolacta Bioscience, where they had overall responsibility for the implementation and coordination of the EH&S Compliance System for 300 skilled laborers and management personnel in the Receipt, Processing, Pasteurization, and Delivery of Human Milk Products for Premature Infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Wards throughout the United States. John was also responsible for the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Program, and the creation of a lean culture, as well as facilitating the finest of Total Safety Cultures in a "Cutting-Edge" and rapidly growing company.

John Macek obtained a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) and a Master of Science in Human Resources (MSHR) from Chapman University between 1998 and 2004. John also holds an ABCEP Certified Environmental Professional certification from ABCEP.
