Andy Golden

Andy Golden has had a long and varied career in the field of diagnostics and medical technology. Andy began their career in 2008 as a Scientific Consultant at MinoTech Engineering, where they worked on fiberoptic picotiter plates for genomic sequencing and other life science tools. In 2009, they became a Presidential Postdoc Fellow at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where they collaborated with Fluxion Biosciences on life science research tools.

In 2010, they joined Daktari Diagnostics as a Senior Scientist, where they worked on complex disposable development, integration of disposable with assay, and assay background minimization. In 2012, they moved to LeMaitre Vascular as a Senior R&D Engineer, where they worked on XenoSure production transfer through design control phases and 510k approval. Andy also invented three surgical biomaterials and one implant and developed them for phase 1 gate.

In 2014, they joined AgaMatrix as a Senior Scientist, where they were the R&D manager and team lead for scientific and engineering projects. Andy also managed collaboration with mechanical engineering and manufacturing departments. In 2016, they became the Director of Microfluidic Development at Genturi, where they successfully lead nanofluidic consumable development from academic prototype to mass manufacturable device.

Finally, in 2019, they joined Instrumentation Laboratory, A Werfen Company as a Senior Engineer and then Engineering Team Lead I, where they managed an engineering team. Currently, they are the Director of Process Development at Proof Diagnostics, Inc., where they are responsible for diagnostic product development and tech transfer, as well as data pipeline and analytics.

Andy Golden obtained a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University between 1995 and 1999. Andy then went on to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, which they completed between 2002 and 2008.
