Daniel Blackford

VP, Threat Research

Daniel Blackford is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in military and cybersecurity roles. From 2009 to 2015, Daniel served as a Combat Engineer in the US Army Reserves, where responsibilities included acting as the company intelligence officer and assistant battle commander during Operation Enduring Freedom, successfully overseeing over 400 route clearance missions. Following military service, Daniel held various positions at the University of Pittsburgh, including System Administrator in the School of Nursing, and advanced to roles in cybersecurity as a Malware Analyst at the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance. Daniel then joined Proofpoint, where a career trajectory included positions from Threat Researcher to Director of Threat Research and ultimately to VP of Threat Research. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
