Jay Dautcher

Jay Dautcher is a seasoned data expert with extensive experience in threat intelligence and data strategy. As a Staff Data Scientist at Proofpoint since May 2016, Jay focuses on leveraging threat intelligence data to enhance threat protection offerings. Prior to this role, a data sabbatical was taken from August 2015 to April 2016 to advance programming and machine learning skills. Jay served as a Research Strategist at Intuit, where extensive ethnographic research informed collaboration between data practitioners and product design teams. Prior roles include Senior Research Anthropologist at Ricoh Innovations, User Experience Researcher and President of Sinocentric, and Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Jay holds a PhD in Social Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and has pursued post-doctoral research at both Harvard University and the University of California, Berkeley, among other educational achievements across diverse fields.
