Ryan Skinner

Ryan Skinner is a seasoned professional in the field of data science, currently serving as the Manager of Data Science at Proofpoint since July 2019, with a specialization in applied machine learning focused on cybersecurity. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Data Scientist and Data Scientist at the University of Colorado Boulder from August 2014 to May 2021, where Ryan worked on multi-fidelity modeling for design optimization and uncertainty quantification, alongside supercomputer simulations of industrial fluid-flow problems. Additional research experience includes roles at the National Institute of Standards and Technology as a SURF Research Fellow in composite materials and ion microscopy, and research assistant positions at Carleton College involving quantum dots and computational astronomy. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Carleton College and a Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
