Ryan W. Hick

Board Secretary at ProPath

Dr. Hick joined ProPath in 2009 and has been a board member since 2017.

He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern. In addition to signing out skin specimens daily, he serves as an attending dermatologist at Parkland Hospital Clinic each week. Dr. Hick is actively involved in the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP), where he has served on several committees. As a Health Policy and Work Value Committee member, he is the ASDP Advisor to the resource-based Relative Value Scale Update Committee of the American Medical Association. Dr. Hick served as secretary-treasurer and president of Dallas Dermatological Society. He has also served on dermatopathology test committees for the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology. He is currently a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Hick is board-certified in dermatology and dermatopathology. He obtained his B.S. from Brigham Young University where he studied human biology and Russian. Dr. Hick received his M.D. from Duke University where he went on to complete an internal medicine internship and dermatology residency. He was selected to serve as Chief Resident during his final year and completed his fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Pennsylvania.
