Stacey L. Smith

Board Member at ProPath

Dr. Smith has been with ProPath since 2010 and joined the Board in 2021. She was named Director of the Breast Pathology Division of ProPath in 2016. Dr. Smith works at the Harris Methodist HEB Hospital where she is a valued member of the team with a particular involvement with the breast oncology program. As further evidence of her broad skill set, she was an active member of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Residents Forum and the CAP’s Spokesperson Network.

Dr. Smith is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and forensic pathology. She attended Xavier University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology completed under a full academic scholarship. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Smith chose Baylor College of Medicine in Houston for her medical studies, once again with a full academic scholarship. Her residency training, including being appointed Chief Resident, was completed at Emory University where she also completed fellowships in forensic pathology and anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr. Smith completed her training with a surgical, breast, and cytopathology fellowship at the prestigious Vanderbilt University program.
