Jack Leonard is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in investigative reporting and editing. Currently serving as a Senior Editor at ProPublica since March 2024, Leonard previously held multiple senior editorial positions at the Los Angeles Times since May 1998, including leading investigative teams and overseeing high-impact projects that garnered numerous prestigious awards, such as the Pulitzer Prize and the Loeb Awards. Leonard's career encompasses a wide range of roles, from editing coverage of crime and local justice to investigating government accountability and systemic issues within California's judicial system. In addition to journalism, Leonard has imparted knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and has international experience from teaching in Japan through the JET Programme. Leonard holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
