Liz Sharp

Liz Sharp is an accomplished Human Resources professional with extensive experience across various organizations. As the Human Resources Director at ProPublica since June 2018, Liz functions as the sole full-time HR staff member for an independent nonprofit newsroom, supporting a workforce of 170 employees across multiple locations. Prior to this role, Liz operated as a self-employed Human Resources Consultant in New York City from 2001 to 2018, providing a range of HR services, including policy development, recruitment, and employee relations for notable clients in the arts and telemarketing sectors. Liz also served as Human Resources Director at The Public Theater from 2008 to 2017, overseeing HR functions, legal compliance, employee relations, and performance management processes in a dynamic performing arts environment. Additional experience includes positions as Volunteer Manager at Wave Hill, Associate Director of Human Resources at the School of Visual Arts, and Director of Human Resources at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
