Peter Coussement is currently a Deputy Attorney General at the Public Prosecutor's Office Court of Appeal in Ghent, serving in the 4th Chamber since 2025. They previously held the same position from 2019 to 2025, following a tenure as Deputy Public Prosecutor focused on tax fraud from 2010 to 2019. Peter earned their PhD in Reorganization and Insolvency Law at Ghent University, where they also completed a Master of Laws in Economic Law. In addition to their legal practice, they have held advisory roles in the Minister of Justice's office. Peter was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Assistant in Economic Law at Ghent University from 2007 to 2010.
