Michael Schomberg

Michael Schomberg has an extensive work experience in the field of biotherapeutical analytics, process development, postdoctoral research, and research assistance. Michael currently holds the position of Principal Scientist at ProtaGene since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Laboratory Manager at the same company from January 2022 to December 2022. From May 2021 to February 2022, they were a Team Leader Biotherapeutical Analytics at Protagen Protein Services GmbH. Before that, they worked as an Application Specialist Glycosylation Analytics at the same company from November 2015 to April 2021. Michael also served as a Post-Doc at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems from July 2013 to October 2015. During their career, they held the position of Head Process Development USP at CEVEC Pharmaceuticals GmbH from February 2012 to March 2013. Michael started their professional journey as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at NIBRT from November 2009 to February 2012. Michael also has experience as a Research assistant at the University of Bielefeld from February 2005 to March 2009.

Michael Schomberg attended Bielefeld University from 1999 to 2004, where they obtained a Diplom-Biotechnologe (MSc Biotechnology) degree with a specialization in Molecular Biotechnology. Michael continued their education at the same institution from 2006 to 2010 and earned a Dr. rer. nat. degree, again in Molecular Biotechnology with a focus on cell culture technology.
