Roland Moussa

Roland Moussa has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Roland is currently serving as the President of ProtaGene since September 2022. Prior to this role, Roland held the position of Senior Vice President Biologics at ProtaGene from January to September 2022.

Before joining ProtaGene, Roland worked at Protagen Protein Services GmbH as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) from January 2020 to January 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Director Operations from December 2015 to January 2020.

Roland's earlier work experience includes a tenure at NUVISAN Analytical Services GmbH, where they held various roles. Roland served as the Director Pharmaceutical Analytics (Site Director) & Head of Quality Control from May to November 2015, the Laboratory Manager from January 2013 to April 2015, and the Project Manager from June 2012 to December 2012.

Roland Moussa obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Bioinformatics and Genome Research from Bielefeld University between 2003 and 2006. Prior to that, they completed a program in Informatik at Berufsfachschule für Angewandte Informatik, earning the degree of Staatlich geprüfter Informatiker between 2001 and 2003. Roland then pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular Biotechnology at RWTH Aachen University from 2006 to 2009. Finally, they earned their Doktor (Ph.D.) degree in Biotechnology from Forschungszentrum Jülich // Heinrich-Heine Universität Düsseldorf, completing their studies between 2009 and 2012.
