James Hallums has over 20 years of experience in the medical industry and has held various senior roles in business development, commercial, and marketing. James is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Protembis GmbH since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Miracor Medical SA as the Vice President of Business Development from February 2022 to February 2023 and as the Vice President of Commercial from July 2020 to February 2022.
Before joining Miracor Medical SA, James was employed at Boston Scientific as the Senior Director of Global Sales Cerebral Embolic Protection from 2018 to 2020. James also worked at Claret Medical, which was later acquired by Boston Scientific, where they held the positions of Chief Commercial Officer from 2017 to 2018 and General Manager and Senior Vice President from 2015 to 2017.
Earlier in their career, James held roles at Claret Medical Inc as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing - International from 2013 to 2017, St. Jude Medical as the Senior Director of Cardiovascular Marketing Emerging Therapies from 2013 to 2013, and St. Jude Medical again as the Marketing Director - Renal Denervation, TAVR, and Mitral Therapies from 2011 to 2013. James had also served as the EMEAC Director of Marketing - Cardiovascular at St. Jude Medical from 2007 to 2011.
Before St. Jude Medical, James worked at Cordis as the Marketing Director Stents - EMEA in 2007 and Conor Medsystems as the Director International from 2005 to 2007. James started their career at Guidant as a Senior Product Manager, where they worked from 2001 to 2005.
James Hallums began their education at Lewes Priory, where they attended from 1981 to 1988. James did not receive a specific degree or field of study from this institution. Afterward, they attended Frances Harrison College from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a degree in Nursing (RGN). In 2003, they attended both The Open University and Management Center Europe. At The Open University, they pursued a degree in Management Studies from 2003 to 2005. Meanwhile, at the Management Center Europe, they engaged in an International Product Management program that focused on marketing in medical devices in 2003. In 2010, James Hallums briefly attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management to complete an Executive Programme in Marketing and Finance.
