Troy Marusich

Troy Marusich has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Troy started their career at John Deere as a Design Engineer, where they collaborated with manufacturing engineering teams to design components for large agricultural and construction equipment. Troy then joined Third Wave Systems, where they held various roles including R&D Engineer, R&D Manager, Director of Product Development, Vice President of Engineering, Chief Technical Officer, and Senior Technical Director. At Third Wave Systems, Troy played a key role in developing Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software tools for improving machining processes, resulting in significant reductions in machining cycle times and tooling costs. Troy also secured licensing agreements and managed R&D projects, including securing funding through Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) programs. Most recently, Troy has worked at Protolabs as a Principal R&D Engineer, where they have collaborated across business service lines and identified and developed new hardware and software technologies in alignment with product roadmaps to increase revenue and profit margins. Troy has also been involved in corporate M&A activities, providing technology and marketplace analysis for acquisition suitability.

Troy Marusich holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management, completed between 2008 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Engineering from Brown University, which they pursued from 1993 to 1995. Troy also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering from Brown University, completed from 1991 to 1993. In addition, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, graduating between 1985 and 1990. Troy has also acquired certifications in Advanced Derivatives Trading from the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and as a Licensed Professional Engineer from the State of Minnesota.
