John-Mark Coates

John-Mark Coates is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Proton Green since January 2021. Prior to this, they were an Experienced Natural Resource Professional at High Hopes LLC since January 2018 and was responsible for pursuing Helium and Carbon Capture opportunities in the US. Before that, they were the Founder of Dover Energy from June 2009 to December 2019. John-Mark co-founded Coronado Resources in October 2005 and was focused on developing frontier, low-cost resource plays. John-Mark was also the Founder of Patrick Energy from June 1998 to June 2005, which identified and developed unconventional gas plays in the Mid-Continent. John-Mark worked as the Director of Unconventional Gas at MCN Investment Corp from April 1993 to August 1998, where they led the team to develop a portfolio of over 1 TCF of proven gas reserves in five years, ultimately sold for over $2 Billion. John-Mark started their career as a Geologist at Advanced Resources International in 1987.

John-Mark Coates completed their Bachelor of Science with Honors in Geochemistry from the University of London in 1984. From 1990 through 1993, they attended the Colorado School of Mines where they obtained their Master of Science in Geological Engineering with a thesis focused on Integrated Exploration in Fractured Reservoirs.
