Bill Tepper has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 1982. Bill began their career as a Cooperative Education Student at the NASA Langley Research Center, where they worked on the Storm Hazards Research Project and researched space based laser power transmission. In 1986, they became a Staff Engineer at Dynetics, Inc., where they performed advanced research and analysis on aerospace platforms and tracking sensors. From 1994 to 1998, they worked as a Staff Software Engineer and Sr. Test Engineer at Scientific-Atlanta, where they administered PVCS configuration management tools and wrote software installers and release notes. In 2000, they became VP, R&D Engineering at LDC Direct, where they directed staff on all R&D and documentation efforts and did embedded programming on point-of-sale terminals. From 2001 to 2004, they worked as a Sr. Product Engineer at Wave7 Optics, where they led early development of embedded software for Last Mile Gateway. In 2017, they began working as a Test Automation Consultant at Thompson Software Solutions, where they wrote automated white box tests using VectorCAST for the Ada-based LM-100J Mission Computer and the Special Mission Processor for the MC-130J Terrain Following Radar (MCTF). In 2004, they became CEO of Provare Technology, where they help clients hire the best of the best managers, developers, QA specialists, and build and test automation engineers to get the best quality and productivity for their investments.
Bill Tepper attended The University of Alabama from 1980 to 1984, where they earned a BSAE in Aerospace Engineering. Bill then attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1984 to 1986, where they earned an MSE in Orbital Mechanics and Physics. In 2010, they attended Sandler Training, but did not receive a degree or field of study.
