Daniel Margetson has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Daniel is currently serving as the Chief R&D Officer at Proveca Ltd since September 2022.
Prior to that, they worked at Theramex from January 2019 to September 2022 as the Director - Manufacturing, Science & Technology. In this role, they were responsible for shaping and implementing efficient organizational structures and processes, ensuring manufacturing capacity, quality, and performance metrics were achieved.
From July 2014 to December 2018, Daniel was the CMC Director at Diurnal Limited, where they led product development and supply chain activities for specialty Endocrinology start-up.
Daniel also worked at Shire Pharmaceuticals from August 2010 to June 2014, first as an Associate Product Development Director, where they managed multiple global projects and provided strategic oversight for the introduction of new products. Later, they became a Pharmaceutical Technical Manager with Global Supply Chain responsibility for leading products.
Before that, they worked at Eisai from November 2009 to July 2010 as the Managing Technology Transfer, overseeing the transfer of a market-leading product for Alzheimer's Disease to a new manufacturing site.
Daniel's career in the pharmaceutical industry began at GlaxoSmithKline, where they worked from 1995 to 2008 in various roles, including Principal Scientist, Strategic Technologies & Collaborations Management. Daniel managed development activities for proprietary drug delivery technologies and procurement of manufacturing equipment.
In 1994, they worked as a Clinical Trials Supply Scientist at Sharp, part of UDG Healthcare plc, where they were involved in the production of clinical supplies in a GMP environment.
Daniel Margetson completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Greenwich from 1997 to 2000. Daniel then pursued further education at the University of Brighton, where they obtained a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Chemistry from 1995 to 1997. Daniel continued their studies at Queen's University Belfast, School of Pharmacy, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmaceutics from 2002 to 2009.
