John Klinger

Staff Engineer at Proxy Technologies

John Klinger has over 40 years of experience in the engineering and research fields. John began their career in 1977 as a Research Associate at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. In 1980, they joined Fairchild Industries as a Staff Engineer, where they performed operational analysis studies to show the effectiveness of the A-10 aircraft and rewrote and improved BLUEMAX2 and developed TAPM under contract with the USAF. In 1992, they were promoted to Senior Staff Engineer at Matra (Fairchild Defense Division). Three years later, they moved to Orbital Sciences Corporation (Fairchild Defense Division) as a Staff Scientist, where they converted mission planning software to a "windows" program that can run on a personal computer. In 2000, they joined Smiths Aerospace as a Staff Engineer. Finally, in 2005, they joined Proxy Aviation Systems as a Staff Engineer, where they worked on the company's UDMS software that allows a single operator to control a fleet of unmanned air vehicles.

John Klinger received their BS in Applied Physics from Columbia Engineering in 1970 and their PhD in Physics from Cornell University in 1978.
