Debbie Smith

Debbie Smith is a dedicated educational professional with extensive experience in mathematics education and program management. Currently serving as a 7th Grade Mathematics Teacher at Oak Ridge Schools since October 2022, Debbie previously taught 7th and 8th grades at Roane County Schools and worked as a substitute teacher at Sylvania Schools. In addition to teaching, Debbie has been an Independent Promoter for Prüvit since June 2019 and co-founded the Bedford Express Robotics Boosters, where responsibilities included managing finances, fundraising, and community relations. As the District FIRST Robotics Program Manager for Bedford Public Schools for over three decades, Debbie led various initiatives aimed at enhancing STEM education, mentoring, and student empowerment. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Education from The University of Toledo, along with ongoing studies at Cisco Networking Academy.
