Karin Soons is a psychologist with extensive experience in the mental health field, currently working at PSYTREC since March 2022. Prior positions include roles at Adelante Zorggroep as a PIOG, Mondriaan as a PIOG, and earlier stints at PSYTREC where Karin specialized in the treatment of PTSD using EMDR techniques. Karin's background also includes diagnosing and treating chronic pain patients at Het Rughuis through cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as working with both adults and children at Praktijk voor Psychologie en Orthopedagogiek Venray. Additionally, Karin has experience in education, having served as a teacher and department head at BC Broekhin and providing psychological support as a poh-ggz at Lionarons-ggz. Karin holds a Master's degree in Health Psychology from Fontys Hogeschool Sittard and has been active in the field since 2000.

PSYTREC | Psychotrauma Expertise Centrum is een innovatieve gespecialiseerde GGZ-instelling, erkend door het ministerie van VWS. Voor mensen met ernstige, complexe PTSS bieden wij een een zeer intensief, kortdurend behandelprogramma, ontwikkeld door professor dr. Ad de Jongh (Universiteit van Amsterdam, University of Worcester) en professor dr. Agnes van Minnen (Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen). De PTSS richtlijnbehandelingen EMDR en Exposure zijn samen met Sport & Beweging en Psycho-educatie geïntegreerd in een samenhangend en bewezen effectief behandelprogramma. De behandelresultaten zijn zeer goed, zie hiervoor onze website. Wij hebben twee behandelcentra, een in Bilthoven en een in Weert. Innovative PTSD treatment centre. Introducing the INTENSIVE8 treatment under supervision of professor dr. A. de Jongh (University of Amsterdam) and professor dr. A. van Minnen (Radboud University Nijmegen). INTENSIVE8 treatment makes it possible to treat PTSD in only 8 days. PSYTREC is the only organization worldwide that is allowed to work with this treatment.
