Michael McBean has a wealth of experience in business development and operations, primarily in the energy, nuclear, and construction sectors. Michael currently serves as the Director of Business Development at PTAG, where they are responsible for the growth and development of the company's U.S. business.
Prior to this, Michael held various roles at Plan Group Inc., including Director of Business Development - Energy and Manager of Business Development. In these roles, they oversaw the strategic direction and development of the energy sector, built international relationships, and supported new opportunities and partnerships. Michael also served as an Account Executive, where they managed key accounts in the healthcare and telecommunications sectors. Additionally, they had experience as an Operations Manager and Foreman, where they were responsible for developing procedures, managing field staff, and coordinating operations for specialized business units.
Earlier in their career, Michael worked at Comstock Canada as a Foreman and Electrician, gaining experience in tenant fit outs, electrical work in automotive and water treatment plants, and communications infrastructure. Their work experience demonstrates their expertise in business development, operations, and project management across various industries.
Michael McBean has a diverse education history. In 1996 to 1998, they attended George Brown College and completed the Culinary Chef Program. Following this, from 2000 to 2003, they studied at Humber College and obtained a degree in Electrician-Construction Maintenance with a specialization in 309A. In 2005 to 2007, they pursued the ECAO Fire Alarm and Protection Certification Course at the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario. In 2014, they attended the Schulich School of Business - York University to gain knowledge in Business Management, General. Moreover, in 2022 to 2025, they attended the Construction Industry Institute (CII) to acquire Project Management Best Practices and Leadership Training. In addition to their formal education, Michael McBean has also obtained various certifications, including being a Level 1 Certified Airborne Ultrasound Inspector from SDT International sa nv in March 2012, an ECAO Fire Alarm & Protection Certification from the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario, and an Electrician Construction and Maintenance 309A certification from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in September 2004.
