The PtX Development Fund, financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is making an important contribution to building the international hydrogen economy. PtX Development Fund will provide financial support for public organizations and private companies to develop the green hydrogen value chain.
KGAL, a Munich based independent investment and asset manager, is fund manager.  

This fund is primarily aimed at projects in developing and emerging economies where the green hydrogen production can benefit from favorable environmental conditions. The funding is designed to support industrial projects for production, transport, storage, use and further processing of green hydrogen.
 
PtX Development Fund aims to push the market ramp-up of green hydrogen by closing the bankability gap. At the same time, the fund promotes a socio-ecological economic transformation in developing and emerging economies. Green hydrogen also serves a variety of strategic and economic interests for Europe, helping achieve European climate targets and the global energy transition.
 
The PtX Development Fund,  initiated by the BMZ and endowed with €270 million, is part of KfW’s PtX Platform for promoting hydrogen projects in the global South. KfW is one of the world's leading development banks.
