Jonathan Simons

Jonathan Simons is a seasoned education policy expert with extensive experience across various high-profile organizations. Currently serving as Partner and Head of the Education Practice at Public First since December 2018, Jonathan previously held key roles including Director of Policy and Research at the Varkey Foundation, where a focus on education reform and stakeholder relationships was paramount. Jonathan also directed the Education Unit at Policy Exchange and was part of the executive board at Serco's Education Division, overseeing a significant annual turnover and national contracts. Earlier, Jonathan contributed to public service reform as Deputy Director at the Cabinet Office and provided strategic advice on education within the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit. Jonathan started career at HM Treasury, where involvement spanned multiple economic and education policy areas. An alumnus of Durham University, Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics.
