Alex Broadbent has a diverse work experience in the hospitality industry. Alex started their career in 2010 as an Assistant General Manager at The Melting Pot Restaurants, where they handled various responsibilities including food preparation, scheduling, purchasing, and quality assurance. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as the General Manager of Operations at Encore Hospitality Group, overseeing multiple restaurant brands and specializing in serving exceptional cuisine. In 2017, they joined The Great Maple as a General Manager, where they focused on creating made-from-scratch recipes and providing a laid-back dining experience. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Education and Development at Puesto, where they lead the company's education and development initiatives.
Alex Broadbent obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Rhode Island, which they attended from 2006 to 2011. Alex also holds a Certificate of Restaurant Revenue Management from Cornell University. Additionally, Alex has obtained several certifications in the field of restaurant management and hospitality, including Controlling Foodservice Costs, Food Safety Manager Certification (FSMC), Hospitality Human Resources Management & Supervision, Hospitality and Restaurant Management, Hospitality and Restaurant Marketing, and ManageFirst Professional™ Credential. Alex has also obtained a certification in Restaurant Revenue Management from Cornell College.

It was tacos from the beginning. Our family story begins with tacos. As first-generation Mexican Americans, we have been immersed in authentic, Mexican cooking since childhood. Traveling has fueled our fascination with how local cuisine reflects the people, art and culture of a city. We frequently visit Mexico City on the hunt for everything from innovative flavors to treasured family traditions handed down from generation to generation. Puesto is where we bring all of that inspiration to life.
