Murat Sönmez

Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer at Pulsora

Murat Sönmez has a diverse and extensive work experience. Murat co-founded and served as the CEO of Pulsora since March 2021. Murat also became a board member of Avellino Lab in September 2021. In August 2021, they joined TED University's Board of Trustees. Prior to these roles, Murat worked at the World Economic Forum from October 2014 to March 2021 as the Managing Director and member of the Managing Board. During their time there, they established and led the Forum's Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) Global Network. Before that, Murat held various positions at TIBCO from January 1997 to August 2014, including being the co-founder and Executive Vice President. Murat played a crucial role in the growth and success of the company, which went public in 1999. Prior to TIBCO, Murat was a product manager at Teknekron Software Systems from January 1994 to January 1997, where they helped expand the company's real-time data distribution platform. Murat started their career as a software engineer at Consilum in May 1989, before transitioning to a product marketing manager role.

Murat Sönmez earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University in 1985 and later completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Virginia Tech between 1985 and 1989.
