Alex James

Product Development Scientist at Puraffinity

Alex James is currently working as a Product Development Scientist at Puraffinity. Prior to this role, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool from 2020-2021. During their time at the University of Liverpool, they were funded by ExxonMobil, worked with Prof. Andrew Cooper FRS, supervised a PhD student, synthesized a wide array of porous materials, and ran the gas sorption isotherms for the group. Alex was also the co-chair of the research staff committee and the organizer of NPDC21. From 2016-2020, they were a PhD Student at The University of Sheffield, where their thesis was titled "Microporous Polymers Tailored For Applications in Solution and Sustainability".

Alex James attended the University of Hull from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained an MChem Chemistry degree in the field of Chemistry.
