Gary Sparrow

Gary Sparrow is a Partner at Purcell, having played a pivotal role in establishing the company's Liverpool studio and later its Hong Kong studio. With a keen interest in conserving historic buildings, they earned a distance-learning MSc in Conservation, graduating as the top student. Gary's notable projects include overseeing the conservation and revitalization of the Central Police Station and Victoria Prison, which were transformed into Tai Kwun - Centre for Heritage & Arts, winning the UNESCO Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence in 2019. After a decade in Hong Kong, Gary relocated to the London Studio in 2020 to lead prestigious heritage projects while continually engaging with the challenges of integrating new designs within historic contexts.
