Purpose Built Films creates cinematic, evidence-driven narratives for the nature economy — combining filmmaking craft with ecological rigour.

We specialise in ground-truthing biodiversity and restoration projects, producing consistent, repeatable visual baselines that support:

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)

Biodiversity and nature credits

Enriched carbon projects

Corporate nature disclosures (TNFD / ESRS)

Our work helps landowners, ecologists, NGOs and investors communicate both the story and the evidence behind nature-positive outcomes.

Biotapes™ — Verified Visual Records (VVRs)

Alongside our filmmaking work, we developed Biotapes™, the world’s first protocol for Verified Visual Records — high-resolution, timestamped, human-visible evidence of environmental change.

A Biotapes VVR is:

protocol-driven (aerial, ground, quadrat-level)

geolocated + metadata-bound

hash-locked at ingest for auditability

captured using specialist natural-history equipment

built so ecologists, landowners and investors see the same reality

Biotapes creates professional-grade baselines and uplift records designed for BNG workflows, biodiversity credits, and seamless integration with nature-tech platforms.

What we make

We turn these evidence layers into compelling visual narratives:

short films

investor reels

restoration stories

portfolio and reporting assets

Everything we produce is designed to make ecological change visible, trustworthy and fundable.

Our dual mandate

🎥 Tell the story
🔎 Show the proof

Purpose Built Films + Biotapes™ =
the narrative and verification layer for a more transparent, trustworthy nature economy.

We partner with rewilding projects, regenerative farmers, ecological consultants, environmental NGOs, researchers, impact investors and nature-tech platforms across the UK and beyond.
