Lilly Workneh has a strong and diverse work experience in the media industry, spanning over a decade. Their most recent position is as the Chief Content Officer at PushBlack since September 2022. Prior to that, they founded their own company, Abeba Media, in 2020, where they served as the Founder and Chief Content Strategist.

Before their current roles, Lilly Workneh worked as the Head of Digital Content at Rebel Girls from January to August 2021. Prior to that, they held significant roles at Blavity Inc., starting as the Editor-In-Chief of Shadow & Act from December 2017 to December 2018. In that position, they managed a team of writers and editors and successfully increased the site's traffic. Lilly began their career at NBC News as the Lifestyle News Editor at theGrio.com from March 2013 to August 2014. In this role, they oversaw the lifestyle vertical, contributed as on-air talent for live MSNBC TV shows, and managed the site's social media presence. Prior to their time at NBC News, they worked as a Reporter at PEOPLE Magazine and People.com from June 2012 to March 2013.

Lilly Workneh started their professional journey as a Features Intern at CNN.com in the Fall of 2011, where they produced content for feature sections and collaborated with editors. Lilly also had an editorial internship at InStyle Magazine in the summer of 2011.

Lilly Workneh attended The University of Georgia from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained both a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Their field of study focused on Publication Management and Consumer Journalism.
