Athena Wilson

Athena Wilson, SPHR, has over 30 years of experience in human resources and benefits management. Their most recent position was as the Human Resources and Benefits Manager at V2 Ventures, where they were responsible for the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function. Prior to that, they held a similar role at VuePlanner, a technology company specializing in YouTube campaign performance. Athena also worked at Adknowledge, where they served as a Senior HR Generalist and Senior Benefits Administrator, overseeing various employee benefit initiatives and managing benefit administration tasks. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Consultant and Senior Benefit Analyst at Hays Companies, providing consulting services related to employee benefits. Athena's experience also includes roles at Delta Dental of Missouri and MARCIT (now known as Midwest Public Risk), where they gained experience in sales and marketing support, project management, and business operations. Athena began their career as a Research Analyst at Kaiser Permanente, where they maintained subscriber records and conducted trend analysis for the Sales and Marketing Team. Athena Wilson, SPHR, holds an MBA in Business and Marketing from the University of Central Missouri. Athena also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Spanish from Baker University. Additionally, Athena has obtained several certifications including the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2015, and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021.
