Chen Yao

Chen Yao's work experience begins in 2009 as an intern at Shanghai Yuzhan Import and Export Company. In 2010, they worked as an intern at Hitchech Personnel and also held the role of Marketing Assistant and Accounting Assistant at Radio FM88 Canberra. During this role, Chen gained knowledge and skills in practical accounting, MYOB, MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. They also gained experience in event organization, monthly reporting, time management, radio program processes, research, proposal writing, negotiation, account payable and receivable, invoicing, tax and superannuation, filing, reception, administration, customer service, advertising design, newspaper translation, and even served as a casual radio DJ for the program "Lady Party."

From 2013 to 2016, Chen worked as a Receipting Administrator and later as an Assistant Accountant at Pulse Energy Ltd.

In 2016, Chen started working at Pushpay, initially as an Assistant Accountant responsible for daily AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and month-end closure. They also served as a finance business partner for the IT unit, delivering monthly flash reports. Later on, Chen transitioned to the role of Financial Accountant, where they were highly involved in month-end and year-end reporting, process improvement, and acted as a business partner providing support for monthly flash reports.

In 2022, Chen attended Enspiral Dev Academy and became a Fullstack Software Developer (student). During this time, they gained programming experience and developed skills in JavaScript, React.js, Redux-thunk, SQL & NoSQL databases, authentication & JWT, and writing tests with Jest and Nock.

Currently, Chen is working as a Software Developer Engineer 1 at Pushpay since June 2022.
