Stephen Keppel is the President at PVBLIC Foundation. Stephen has a long and accomplished history working with Latinx communities and organizations. Stephen Keppel started their career as a columnist with Diario La República from September 2010 to December 2013. Stephen then took on the role as Vice President of Social Impact at Univision Communications Inc. from April 2011 to May 2020. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all social responsibility initiatives and programs for Univision. In 2017, Stephen Keppel co-founded the Univision Foundation and served as its Executive Director until June 2020. During their time as Executive Director, Stephen was responsible for acquiring the foundation’s 501(c)(3) status, designing its governance and financial reporting structure, developing legal framework, and defining fundraising and grantmaking strategies. Stephen Keppel also recruited board members and managed the foundation board. In 2019, they launched the foundation’s first initiative, a scholarship program for Latino students in partnership with the world-renowned Mexico band Maná. In January 2020, Stephen Keppel started working as a Consultant with GMMB. In this role, they have been advising the CA Governor's office on it's statewide COVID-19 awareness campaign and has been leading Latinx paid and earned media strategy. Stephen is also advising the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts supporting Latinx and Black media partners and grantees.
Stephen Keppel has a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia | SIPA. Stephen also has an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Duke University. Their Bachelor’s Degree is in Marketing and Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. Stephen also has a certification from The Aspen Institute in Socrates Seminar and IDEO U in Storytelling for Influence.
