Brian Hogan

Brian Hogan has an extensive work experience in software engineering and teaching. Brian began their career in 2008 as the Founder and Lead Software Engineer at Revolution In Design. In 2011, they became an Independent Scholar and Ethnomusicologist. In 2012, they worked as a Contract Software Engineer at LightSail Energy. In 2013, they returned to Wexus Technologies, Inc. as a Contract Software Engineer. Brian joined PVComplete in 2015 as a Contributing Software Engineer and Chief Technology Officer. In 2017, they became the Director of Technology at Primary Design, Inc. In 2018, they joined Berklee College of Music as an Assistant Professor. During their time at UCLA from 2005 to 2008, they held various roles such as Teaching Associate, Graduate Student Researcher, Teaching Assistant, and Instructor.

Brian Hogan has a long and varied educational history. Brian started their studies in 1998, when they earned a Certificate in Drumset Performance from Berklee College of Music in Music Performance. In 1999, they attended Oberlin College for Music. In 2000, they received a Bachelor's degree from University of California, Santa Cruz in Anthropology. In 2002, they attended School for International Training for Ethnomusicology. From 2004 to 2007, they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Ethnomusicology from University of California, Los Angeles. Finally, from 2006 to 2011, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Ethnomusicology from University of California, Los Angeles.
