Ryan Watson's work experience begins in 2003 when they worked as a Field Technician for Ohio EPA, conducting sampling of remote sites in Ohio and maintaining field equipment. In 2004, they joined Midwest Biodiversity Institute as an Assistant Crew Leader, where they conducted sampling of remote sites for the National Wadeable Streams Assessment Project. Ryan later became a Crew Leader, leading a four-member crew and managing logistics and field equipment customization.
In 2005, Ryan joined the US Navy as a Hull Technician, E-4, serving as a Project Leader for various projects. This included base beautification, maintenance, and cost-saving projects. Ryan left the navy in 2009.
After leaving the navy, Ryan worked as a Volunteer Research Assistant at the San Diego State University Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory from 2010 to 2011. Ryan then transitioned to being a Stay At Home Dad from 2010 to 2016, where they were the primary child caretaker and also managed home renovation projects and bookkeeping.
In 2016, Ryan started working as a Software Developer at Great Falls Marketing until 2018. During this time, they developed software solutions.
From 2018 to 2020, Ryan worked as a Software Engineer 1 at Moebius Solutions, Inc., where they were part of a team that modernized software through containerization and deployed it to multiple secure cloud container environments. Ryan added scalability and security features and translated between various models.
Currently, Ryan is a Software Engineer 1 at PVM, Inc. starting from April 2021. The duration of this role is ongoing.
Ryan Watson has a diverse education history. Ryan obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science from National University, studying from 2014 to 2016. Before that, in 2010, they completed a program in Neurobiology and Neurosciences at UC San Diego Extended Studies. Ryan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fishing and Fisheries Sciences and Management, which they earned from The Ohio State University between 2002 and 2004. Furthermore, they pursued studies in Aquaculture at Unity College from 2000 to 2002.
