Michael Bauer

Michael Bauer is an experienced tax professional with a strong background in financial transactions and international tax. As Principal and National Tax Office Financial Transactions Practice Leader at BDO USA, LLP from December 2021 to April 2024, and as Director of International Tax/Financial Products at PwC from July 2016 to December 2021, Michael has led significant financial tax initiatives. Currently, Michael serves as Principal at PwC Washington National Tax Services, while also chairing the DC Bar Financial Products Committee and the American Bar Association Financial Institutions & Products Committee. In addition, Michael holds an adjunct professor role at Georgetown University Law Center, co-teaching a course on Taxation of Financial Instruments and Transactions. Michael holds a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
