Mark Hoyer

Mark Hoyer is a specialized wildlife and zoo veterinarian with extensive experience in remote immobilization and anesthesia for various species, including horses and large wild animals. They founded VIA (Veterinary and Immobilization Advice) to provide veterinary advice and training on wildlife capture and treatment. Currently, Mark serves as a veterinary advisor for multiple organizations, including Rewilding Europe, Staatsbosbeheer, and ARK Natuurontwikkeling, while also lecturing at Utrecht University on wildlife population health. Mark’s extensive background includes roles at several zoos and veterinary practices, where they focused on conservation and animal health management.
