Tim de Groot is a dedicated researcher with extensive experience in environmental sciences and oceanography. Currently serving as a researcher at PWN since September 2023, Tim focuses on developing and testing nature-based solutions for natural drinking water purification as part of the LIFE WATERSOURCE project. Tim has held significant roles at the NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research as a guest researcher and PhD candidate, and participated in a physical oceanography research cruise with GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel. Tim's academic background includes a master's degree in Molecular Life Sciences from Wageningen University & Research and a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Tim’s research efforts also encompass various internships and projects, contributing to a robust understanding of marine environments and chemical analysis techniques.
