Michael Cordell is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Q-Centrix, where they lead a team of 55 engineers focused on building a software platform for healthcare quality-of-care data. Michael has successfully led the transition of the company from a services-based organization to a data, technology, and tech-enabled services organization. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Engineering and as a Lead Software Engineer at the same company.

Before joining Q-Centrix, Cordell worked as a Web Developer and Literature Researcher for the Hinkle Charitable Foundation / Sei Querce Vineyards, where their primary responsibilities included literature research and synthesis, website design and deployment, and building custom content management systems. Michael also worked as a Web Developer at Monk Development, contributing to existing Rails projects and using Git and Github for version control and issue management.

Cordell's earlier experience includes working as an fMRI Researcher and Developer at Columbia University, where they developed and executed functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging studies. Michael also served as an Electronic Medical Records Consultant at San Diego Physicians Group, developing database migration solutions and acting as an intermediary between physicians and the EMR firm's IT group.

Additionally, Cordell worked as a Flash Web Developer at the University of California Santa Barbara, designing and implementing Flash-based immunology cases. Michael was also a Research Assistant at the University of California San Diego, where they interviewed patients to collect data on post-trauma victims' smoking habits.

Cordell started their career as a Research Assistant for Adrian Jaffer M.D. Overall, they have a diverse background in engineering, healthcare, web development, and research.

Michael Cordell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from UC Santa Barbara, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Later, they pursued further education and completed a Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition from Columbia University, graduating in 2011.
