Donald White

Staff Scientist, Quantum Sensing

Donald White is a highly skilled physicist with extensive experience in quantum sensing and experimental physics. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist in Quantum Sensing at Q-CTRL since April 2023, Donald specializes in the development of field-ready quantum gravimeters through optimal quantum control. Prior to this role, Donald worked as a Senior Quantum Sensing Scientist at Waseda University from June 2017 to April 2023, focusing on quantum optics with single atoms and constructing high-quality atom-cavity systems for scalable quantum computing. Donald's earlier experience includes a position as Senior Project Scientist at International Earth Sciences IESE Ltd, where novel fiber optic technology was applied for ground settlement monitoring in construction projects. The academic background features a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from the University of Auckland, complemented by a Bachelor's degree with honors in Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Mathematics.
