Trina Thakker

Trina Thakker (Ng) is a laser scientist with expertise in optics and photonics engineering, currently working as a Staff Laser Scientist at Q-CTRL since 2025. They previously held the position of Senior Optical Engineer at Finisar Corporation and Baraja, where they focused on designing and developing sensor heads for automotive LiDAR. Trina's earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Laser Scientist at the Science and Technology Facilities Council, where they led activities in femtosecond timing and synchronization solutions for advanced particle accelerators and free electron lasers. They earned a PhD in Optical Fibre Communications from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Physics from the University of Sydney.
