Alec Dorling

Alec Dorling is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international standards development, particularly in Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety, Quality Management, and Product Cyber Security. Currently serving as Principal Consultant at Qamcom Research and Technology since January 2022, Alec has also held various roles in SMARTERDIGITAL Communities since 1994, including leadership in social media channels focusing on automotive standards and live video content. Prominently involved in the ISO SPICE project as a convener since 1992, Alec has contributed to several organizations, including Zenseact and Volvo Group, where responsibilities encompassed process transformation, compliance, and improvement initiatives across multiple international environments. Educational qualifications include a PhD from Dundalk College of Technology on the gamification of SPICE and a BSc in Computer Science from De Montfort University.
