David Schaffer

David Schaffer is the Hubbard Howe Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where they focus on applying engineering principles to cell biology and bioengineering, particularly in stem cell biology and gene therapy. They co-founded and currently serve as Director and Chief Scientific Advisor at Axent Biosciences and have held multiple leadership roles in various organizations, including the Berkeley Stem Cell Center and 4D Molecular Therapeutics. David's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in the same field from Stanford University.
