Brian Charles is an accomplished professional in optical engineering with extensive experience in applications development and manufacturing. Currently, Brian serves as a Senior Applications Engineer at QED Technologies, specializing in advanced optical polishing techniques using magneto rheological fluid. Previously, Brian held the position of Senior Laboratory/Manufacturing Engineer at the University of Rochester, where projects focused on thin film coating processes, including ion beam sputtering. As a Senior Development Engineer at Exelis, Brian led R&D initiatives aimed at enhancing optical manufacturing processes. Brian began a career in education, teaching physics and science at various schools, including Spencerport Central School District and Central Park East Secondary School. Brian's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Technical Entrepreneurship and Management from the University of Rochester, a Master of Arts in Secondary Science Education from Columbia University, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from SUNY College at Fredonia.
