Wayne Kirchner

Senior Systems Engineer at QIC

Wayne Kirchner started their work experience in 1982 as a Cane Tester at the Department of Primary Industries. Wayne then worked in various roles at Bundaberg Sugar Company Pty. Ltd from 1983 to 1988, including as a Cadet Chemist and Shift Supervisor. From 1989 to 1993, they were a Distillery Chemist at Bundaberg Distilling Company Pty Ltd. Wayne then became a Production Manager at Rocky Point Distillery Pty. Ltd from 1993 to 1997. Starting in 1998, they worked at Australian Magnesium Operations as an IT Support (Onsite) Level 1/2 and later as a Laboratory Procedures & Systems Analyst until 2003. From 2003 to 2004, they were a Process Chemist at Australasian Lubrication Manufacturing Company. Wayne then worked as an IT Systems Support Manager at Bob Wood Travel Group from 2004 to 2006. At Bank of Queensland, they held the roles of IT Technical Support Officer Level 2 from 2006 to 2009 and Senior System Engineer from 2009 to 2015. Wayne is currently working as a Senior Systems Engineer at QIC since 2015.

Wayne Kirchner completed their education with a Bachelor of Information Technology from Central Queensland University in 2002. Prior to that, they earned an Associate Diploma of Applied Science in Sugar Technology from Mackay TAFE College in 1987. Wayne's earlier education history includes attending Kepnock State High School from 1977 to 1981, where they obtained a Senior Certificate with studies in English, Maths I & II, Chemistry, Physics, and Geometrical Drawing and Perspective.
